ELSA Messina is honoured to present its first edition of the International Conference of ELSA on Cultural Heritage Law, which will take place between the 18th and the 21st of April 2024.

Messina is a harbour town and the third largest city on the island of Sicily. It is located near the northeast corner of the island, at the Strait of Messina, and it is an important access terminal to Calabria region on the mainland. The Greeks used to call this corner of land “Zancle”, which means “sickle”: if you’re wondering why, just take a look at its natural harbour. The best way to explore it is on foot by wandering around, absorbing the beautiful landscapes and trying the local food.
Through lectures, workshops and institutional visits, this ICE will address the theme of heritage law with a major focus on theoretical and practical application in the beautiful scenery of Messina and Taormina. Participants will immerge in our interdisciplinary approach, meeting professors, archeologists and other experts on the matter of cultural property, either public or private, with a procedural and substantive point of view.

Furthermore, if you want to make international friends and enjoy the ELSA’s spirit, just give a look to our social programme which includes traditional Sicilian dinner, a pizza night and a Gala Ball.
New legal skills, interesting landscapes, nice weather and good food are the base of our ICE, what are you waiting for?
